RCT Solutions and Wärtsilä Launch Valo – A New Chapter in Battery Energy Storage
Konstanz, Germany – 1 October 2026 – RCT Solutions GmbH and Wärtsilä have completed the establishment of their joint venture, Valo, marking an important milestone in the companies’ shared commitment to the global battery energy storage market.
The establishment of Valo follows the joint venture agreement announced in June 2026. With the transaction now completed, Valo begins operations as an independent company jointly owned by RCT Solutions and Wärtsilä.
Valo brings together Wärtsilä’s established global energy storage capabilities, technology, customer base and project expertise with RCT Solutions’ engineering expertise, vertical integration know-how, global supply-chain knowledge and industrial execution capabilities. Together, these strengths provide a solid foundation for serving customers in the rapidly evolving utility-scale battery energy storage market.
The new company will focus on developing a strong and competitive global energy storage platform, combining integrated BESS solutions with manufacturing capabilities, intelligent controls and optimisation technologies, project execution and lifecycle support.
For RCT Solutions, Valo represents an important step in expanding its activities in battery energy storage while building on the company’s established expertise in renewable technology engineering, manufacturing industrialisation and global project execution.
On the other hand, RCT Solutions will continue its existing operations, projects and customer activities independently, with solar PV manufacturing engineering remaining a core area of expertise.
